Straight out of Memphis, The Dirty Streets combine elements of blues, rockabilly, punk, and hardy southern rock for a sound both classic and fresh. The band themselves list MC5, the Rolling Stones, James Brown, Cactus, Humble Pie & the Faces as their influences, and when they bring the heat live, that is a pretty accurate description of what they deliver.
Trying Too Hard is a radio-ready throwback that begs to be danced to. The song is built up in layers, each one bringing in a different flavor and showing off killer drums and great vocals that swing back and forth between plaintive crooning and gravelly roughness- perfect for this party starter of a track.
