Taj Mahal has one of the longest spanning career in blues music, building off the music created by the like of Robert Johnson and Sleepy John Estes. Over the course of his nearly 60 years playing, Mahal perfected a laid-back country sound and folky songwriting.
“Lovin’ in My Baby’s Eyes” is full of emotionally worn vocals, tangy banjo and earnest harmonica. The song is endearing and romantic without sounding like a trite love song. Be sure to check out the Taj Mahal Trio this fall at various festivals and venues.
