Behold, the great Sufjan. Not nearly enough people have seen his transition effort between Illinois and Age of Adz entitled simply The BQE. An orchestral effort with flourishes of electronic instrumentation is set to a fantastically shot adventure through Brooklyn and Queens centered around the much blighted Brooklyn-Queens Expressway. Really love the woodwinds in this movement entitled “Movement III: Linear Tableau with Intersecting Surprise.” If you dig this, check the review on the Planetarium collaboration with Nico Muhly and Bryce Dessner.
