Stéphane Grappelli was the inimitable gypsy-jazz violinist who was the Robin to Django Reinhardt’s Batman and went on well into his 80’s to forge the most masterful jazz violin persona in history. His melodic sensibilities are as effervescent as they are deliberate and each track captures the most perfect feeling of turn-of-the-century Mediterranean jazz culture you can find anywhere. Take a listen to this track written with Django Reinhardt in a heated productive phase in the late 1940’s and early 50’s. Salud!
