North Carolina-native Ryan Adams is one of the most prolific songwriters of his generation with almost schizophrenic musical aspirations – jumping from pop and country to rock and metal. Regardless of the genre, Adams garnered fans and fame with his heartfelt songwriting and guitar-playing.
Ryan Adams and the Cardinals 2005’s release Cold Roses is full of the Neil Young-like country and rock. “Magnolia Mountain,” the first track off the two-disc album, brings to mind Jerry Garcia’s guitar style at times and exemplifies the Cardinals laid back but eager grace.
