When everything goes wrong, there’s a saying that cites “take it or leave it”. Fortunately for many, leaving sometimes turns your life around and everything goes better than expected. That’s what happened to Gabriela Quintero and Rodrigo Sánchez.
Born and raised in México and the modern pop minded musical culture in the country, both guitarists decided to leave a few thousand miles to the other side of the world and hope for the best. And the best is what occurred.
Now, twelve years, four albums and many movie soundtracks, international music festivals and international TV appearances later, they are considered one of the best worldwide known Latin acts around. They are barely recognizable in their own land, though.
Back in 2009, they released their third album, called 11:11, an album in which they dedicated each of the eleven songs to an artist that had inspired them throughout the years. Today’s song of the day, Hanuman, is especially dedicated to Mexican guitar legend Carlos Santana.
Embracing Latin and flamingo roots that have turned many venues and festivals into stomping dance crews as two of the fastest nylon stringed Latin guitarists begin to stomp their feet and scratch the infierno out of their instruments.
