Mission Creek Festival is a week-long event held from March 27th through April 1st, 2012. Taking place in downtown Iowa-City, Mission Creek Festival looks to combine people’s love of good music with good literature, good food, and good art. The event is planned to happen in a number of both traditional and a bit more untraditional venues around the city, (all within five minutes of each other) with plenty of national and international musicians to keep the fun going.
The festival is ran by a large corps of volunteers, the sponsorships of local donors, a small staff, and most importantly, great audiences. Featured acts include The Magnetic Fields, David Cross, Kimya Dawson, The War on Drugs, Justin Townes Earl, Tim Hecker, Black Milk, and Sharon Van Etten.
