After a depressing period of winter induced sluggishness, the Midwest is finally thawing out. Music-loving flower children are popping back up with the daisies, awoken by the promise of springtime festivities. Breaking out their flowing skirts and patchwork shorts, festival-goers know that the beginning of their favorite time is upon them. Serving as their 2012 musical genesis is May Daze Music Festival 2012.
This first-year festival is being held May 4-5th at The Water Bowl in Muncie, Indiana, a venue known for its natural, carved amphitheater. These grassy fields will host not only a personable gathering of friendly people, but a lineup of familiar artists. May Daze goers will be treated to the tunes of over 20 artists including Muncie’s own Glostik Willy and other big name, up-and-coming bands such as The Mantras and The Werks.
The party begins for early birds on the 3rd when the gates open at noon. These lucky first comers will be shuttled from The Water Bowl to Doc’s Music Hall for a pre-party event. The best part is, these early bird tickets are free with the purchase of any gate priced ticket.
The Werks’ Duck Farm
Whether you’re an early bird or a weekender, Laughing Sam Productions and Glostik Willy and Family are offering a raging good time that is sure to blow your mind all weekend long. The days will be full of pond-swimming fun, yoga, hooping, and nun chucks workshops, live painting by Rae Vena, and plenty of gorgeous nature and live music to enjoy. All this is followed by enchanting nights of non-stop music performed on the Peppermint Stage, Daze Stage, and the secret bus stage that will rock until dawn with surprise performances.
The venue also has running restrooms, car-side camping, permitted fire pits and grilling units, as well as wood, ice, and plenty of food vending. RV and VIP guests will also enjoy the benefits of water units and electricity hook-ups. In short, May Dazers will have absolutely everything they need for an amazing weekend of Midwest jamming at a more than affordable price.
Tickets to May Daze Festival 2012 are only $45 for general admission ($15 additional charge for RV’s and Buses) and $80 for VIP. These low price VIP tickets include backstage passes, electricity and water hook-ups, as well as access to pavilion showers. It’s a very small price to pay for the royal festie treatment. All can be purchased at the gate, or check out www.maydazemusicfest.com to plan ahead.
