October 9th will always be a special day for most music fans around the world. That’s the day when, back in 1940 on a hospital in Liverpool, John Winston Lennon was born.
A musician born in the middle of war times, John Lennon grew up and became a giant, both in history and music. Searching ways to improve the world through his music, he has inspired humanity and musicians for 50 years, ever since the first single of The Beatles’ Love Me Do appeared on the radio. Always trying to give peace a chance and fighting against racism, censorship, hunger and for charity; John inspired fellow musicians to take a stand and help others.
Imagine was released in October of 1971 and, 41 years later (like Rolling Stone magazine once said) “It is hard to imagine a world without Imagine”. Evoking world peace, human kindness, equality, global friendship and understanding, it has been and will always be, a worldwide anthem to anyone waiting and working for a better tomorrow.
Happy birthday, John. And thank you. We still imagine…
