G. Love is a veteran of the music scene these days, establishing himself in 1992 with his band, G. Love and Special Sauce. The band found a lot of success coming out of Philadelphia with their twist on blues, R&B, and hip hop, making many connections with tour mates along the way. G. Love has recorded with the likes of Jack Johnson, Slightly Stoopid, and many more.
As time moved on and bandmates started families, G. Love found himself recording and touring solo more frequently. While these albums still retain the laid back rhythm and flow of previous releases, G. Love’s solo material seems more inclined to experiment with new styles and techniques.
Well known for taking things easy, it came as no surprise when G. Love dropped “Who’s Got the Weed” in 2008 off of his “Superhero Brother” album. So for all of you celebrating the legality of cannabis in Washington and Colorado, enjoy this cut — a smooth jam custom made for your favorite form of relaxation.
