You say you want more, Austin Texas? SxSW wasn’t enough to scratch that concert itch? Looking for something with more beats to move your feet? Euphoria Fest has you covered.
As the name implies, this festival is all about creating a sense of elation in its concert-goers, showcasing some of the best electronic, dub step and DJ-produced music the world over in a visual-stimulating and inspiring environment just south of the live music capitol of the world. It’s hard to argue that statement these days, what with Euphoria Fest joining the ranks of some of the best live music festivals the country has to offer, all situated in Austin: ACL Fest, Fun Fun Fun Fest, SxSW, Psych Fest, and now Euphoria. Each one touches upon a different style and mood of music, so Euphoria arrives at just the right time offering the sort of music experience you don’t have to go to an abandoned warehouse to experience.
First and foremost it’s about the music, so who will be there? Artists include Roger Shah, LA Riots, Shogun, White Panda, and even a DJ set from Rabbit In The Moon’s David Christophere. Links to all of the artists, as well as plenty of soundcloud clips can be found on the official website for Euphoria Fest. In addition to a full day and night of great music on 4 stages, there will be go-go dancers, stage performers, face and body painting, as well as huge screens and full laser shows to compliment and accentuate the music on stage.Mo Free Mo Fallin’ by whitepandamusic
Wanting more than just a music experience? There are interactive art installations to stimulate your visuals senses and challenge your notion of what art can be. Want to take home a piece of the experience? There is a vendor village full of goods to be bought and marveled at. Of course there will be plenty of food and drink, with sponsors Jagermeister and Vitamin Water out in full force offering beverages to those who stop dancing long enough.
Some things cannot be expressed in words alone. To get a visual sense of the environment and inspiration for Euphoria Fest, have a look at their pinterest page to witness some beautiful and stunning photography and art. There’s a heavy emphasis on glowing and luminescence–even in the comments on these and other images on the site there’s a sense of the positive feelings these images inspire in the festival creators. It drives home the fact this is a festival put on by music lovers that are passionate about the culture of dance music and the feelings associated with listening to music. They aim to provide people with an experience fueled by passion and intensity, not corporate greed for the sake of squeezing in another festival during the season.
Attendees are encouraged to dress in wild costumes, bring glow sticks and LED lights, as well as wear comfortable dancing shoes. After all that’s what it’s all about: dancing until the point of transcendence from just a spectator to active participant in a shared sense of euphoria through audio. Please join in Euphoria Saturday, April 7th at Thunderhill Raceway in Kyle, Texas to share in the experience.
