“Summer of 89” from Butch Walker and The Black Widows will keep you in the summertime mood even as temperatures cool off and everyone heads back to school. Known for his rousing and raucous live shows, Walker can write a song that will keep your toes tapping and your fists in the air. Check out this number and head over to Walker’s website to hear some of the other tracks off this just-released album.
Walker may have started out his career in the early nineties in a metal band, but there’s very little sign of that on his newest work, The Spade. He’s also a talented producer, working with such bands as Fall Out Boy, Sevendust, Gob, and even Weezer. This retropsective/introspective number he wrote is a fun way to start or finish the day, check it out and think back to summers past.
