Ah, festival season. The wonderful time of year where thousands of people travel from miles away to camp out with friends, eat food from dirty vendors, and bask in the glory of live performances from their favorite artists. Excited? You should be.
This year, one of the productions kicking off festival season will be AURA Music Festival, taking place February 15-17th. If you’re skeptical about camping outside during the month of February (can’t blame you), don’t be! This festival takes place in Live Oak, FL, where the weather forecast for the next week is in the high 70s and low 80s. Honestly, that sounds like a damn paradise if you live in the mid-west (I’m talkin to you, Ohio). What better way to take a break from the cold than by doing it alongside a community of party animals and music enthusiasts?
Visit the AURA Website for information on camping, venue maps, and directions. Also, follow these guys on Facebook and Twitter. The production is only a few years old, but they’re creating quite a name for themselves as a staple festival in the south, and a consistently awesome kick-off to springtime and festival season.
Since its inception in 2010, AURA Music & Arts Festival has stayed tried and true to their mission to “showcase the best regional and national bands in the underground jam community and live-electronic scene, building an event that brings fans together for a magical weekend of music, family, and good times“. AURA’s 2013 lineup doesn’t look like it’s going to be a disappointing one for the jam community. Two nights of Papadosio, Conspirator, as well as a special Stevie-Wonder tribute set from Kung Fu feat. Nigel Hall. If that doesn’t get your motor running, check out the rest of the lineup below!
