A Preview of Camp Bisco 2011

Festivals

Are you ready for the party of the summer? There is only one festival this season with not only an exceedingly fresh lineup of electronic music, but also the glorious main event, six sets of The Disco Biscuits. That festival is Camp Bisco X. The Biscuits’ annual excursion to Upstate New York returns to Indian Lookout Country Club in Mariaville for it’s 10th anniversary, the 5th straight year at this location.

Seemingly having moved past their troubles of the last year, The Disco Biscuits are playing with more force and gusto than they have in some time. Early reports indicate that the recent shows in New York and Stroudsburg came in better than par, and this bodes well for the upcoming season. Fans are rife with anticipation for Camp.

In addition to your favorite traveling untz-circus, there are a plethora of exciting acts to see at Camp. Crowd favorites Pretty Lights and Bassnectar are sure to bring plenty of party-goers, as is hip hop artist Wiz Khalifa. Cut Copy, who recently gave an impressive performance at Ultra Music Festival in Miami, are sure to turn heads with their catchy new-wave brand of dance music.

Fans of dubstep can surely rejoice; between Skrillex, Nero, Rusko and more, surely there is something for every dubstepper; while Wolfgang Gartner, The Magician and Holy Ghost! are sure to bring the dirty house. Ghostland Observatory’s set is a guaranteed good time. The Texas duo’s animated, grimy electro-rock has been setting off crowds around the country, and they are sure to please at CBX. And it doesn’t stop there; Death From Above 1979, Emancipator, Beats Antique, Tobacco, Black Moth Super Rainbow, Lettuce, Paper Diamond, Martyparty, Two Fresh, Bluetech and many, many more are slated to perform… Camp Bisco X is set for blast off!

But Camp Bisco isn’t just about the music; it’s about having fun with your friends. On Friday, July 8th, the madness of Color Wars VII will descend upon all, engaging only those brave enough in contests of brains, brawn and skill. There will be tug-of-war, dodge ball, trivia and more, as well as several surprises. In addition to all of the fun, Camp Bisco is replete with crucial amenities, many not found at your garden variety festival: showers, drinking water, wash station, real toilets and more, making CBX about as comfortable, enjoyable and safe a festival as it can be. Be there, or be square!

Check back here often to see the full lineup, and any additions that might be made in the near future.
